NAL 1800 D.O with Upper Plane Tilting

NAL 1800 D.O with Upper Plane Tilting

Description

With this type of machine NAL.1800 DO there is a real “TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATION” regarding the “UPPER BEAM”. Since we need to produce very large parts, such as flanges with diameters 800 – 1000 – 1200 mm and weights from 40 – 80 kg (with a shell diameter of about 1400 mm weighing about 6 tons)..

We have realized for these large horizontal-splitting shellers, an upper movable plane guided by 4 sturdy side columns, which allow the maximum alignment accuracy between the upper and lower parts of the shell during closing.

Furthermore, to exceptionally improve cleaning and painting and/or talc application, from the upper shell side; the “upper plane” rotates 90° downward, placing itself in front of the operator. This provides a formidable result for better surface quality of the pieces and the reduction of rejects.

A special mechanical arm unloads the flanges automatically.

A Westofen Striko dosing furnace feeds 2 machines automatically (producing 20 flanges per hour with only one operator.

These islands are the best that can be done to produce the largest parts in gravity casting. These cast parts have greater dimensional accuracy and better metallurgical properties than gravity-cast parts “in sand”.

They are competitive with the Low-Pressure and/or die casting system, which is more suited for large-series production.
